IISc Bengaluru hosts launch of Seva First student innovation challenge
The Seva First Innovation Challenge launched its South Zone programme at the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru on 25 September. The Ministry of Education said registration opened that day and runs through 24 October.
IISc will serve as the South Zone nodal institute for technical evaluation and mentorship across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
The challenge is aimed at students and young innovators from schools, industrial training institutes, polytechnics, colleges and universities. Its themes cover sustainability, farming, health and inclusion, education and skills, and security. Entrants can propose a product or technology solution or a business model or governance solution.
The ministry says the programme intends to provide mentoring and incubation pathways for promising ideas. A national finale is scheduled for December in New Delhi. Interested local participants can review eligibility and registration on the official challenge site linked in the government release.
