Central ministries report 242,391 public grievances resolved in August

Central ministries and departments redressed 242,391 public grievances in August 2026, according to the government’s monthly report on its centralised grievance monitoring system, CPGRAMS.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances said the average disposal time across central ministries and departments in 2026 was 13 days. The August report was the 52nd in its monthly series and the 50th consecutive month in which Central Secretariat disposal exceeded 100,000 cases.

The report recorded 138,801 new users registered on the portal in August, including 42,054 from West Bengal, 17,202 from Uttar Pradesh and 10,616 from Maharashtra. It said 8,999 grievances were registered through Common Service Centres during the month.

At the end of August, 93,864 grievances remained pending in the Central Secretariat. The government said about 69% of those had been pending for less than 21 days. The disposal count measures cases marked as redressed; it does not by itself show whether every complainant was satisfied with the outcome.
